Trim Colour Series, no.7: Little Greene Leather

A truly bold pink from Little Greene, called Leather No.191, was selected by our clients Emma and Greg in Fulham, for a fitted bedroom wardrobe which was previously painted in Little Greene Mushroom No.142.

As Little Greene’s notes state, The brightest of pinks, this signature 1970s colour was used in conjunction with Marigold and Purpleheart in the most arresting colour schemes of the time.”

Emma was kind enough to send an email today:

We are very happy with the work, the children’s bedrooms look great. David and Shane were extremely helpful and hardworking and managed to remove all the things nailed to the wall without any scars. Luke also loves the colour of his new wardrobes and frequently tells us it is his favourite! We would be happy to recommend you and the team.

Trim Colour Series, No.6: Farrow & Ball Yellow Ground

David recently redecorated Sarah’s lovely sitting room in Herne Hill, and she was kind enough to send a brief message about her experience.

The colour Sarah chose for the walls was Yellow Ground by Farrow & Ball.

Dear Graeme,

This is just to say that David did a splendid job on my front room — beautifully painted and no mess. The only thing is that the hall and stairs now look rather tired and shabby…

Best wishes,

A period sitting room in Herne Hill before and after being painted with Yellow Ground by Farrow & Ball

Trim Testimonials, No.4: Exterior painting in south London

Sharp work here from Shane, working on new windows in old frames — the top coat on the woodwork, on this occasion, was the Rubbol Satura Plus from Sikkens, a pleasingly low-sheen eggshell.

We were delighted to receive some follow-up comments from Louise and Lee…

“Thank you for the work you have done on our property, it couldn’t have been easier from our side and a great finish on all the areas. Thank you again, we will be sure to give you a call in the future for the next part of the flat refurb.”

Trim Testimonials, No.3: decoration of a hairdressing salon

Katya Davies, the founder of Myla and Davis, was kind enough to describe in detail the experience she had when we carried out the internal and external decoration of her new salon in East Dulwich…

“Graeme and James headed up the internal and external decoration for our new hairdressing salon in East Dulwich. I had worked with them previously and it really gave me peace of mind from the outset to know they were involved in our new project.

Working with them is a pleasure from beginning to end. They made every effort to fit our work in (despite its last minute nature), provided an extensively detailed quotation (as always) and began on time (despite their many other projects).

Both Graeme and James got on extremely well with other tradesmen working alongside them, making the site not only a pleasant place to be but somewhere you were confident there was collaboration.

On this project, the builder preceding Graeme and James let me down badly and I was hugely relieved with the significant effort that they made to rectify the bad workmanship — going way beyond the call of duty. They both seem to have a real understanding of the unique constraints and pressures of a commercial project, and as a result of their effort we opened on time. This really sums up how I feel about working with Trim Decorating — they are painstaking in their efforts to assist their clients. I wouldn’t work with anyone else.”

Trim Testimonials, No.2: redecoration of a 1-bedroom flat

Laura Southerland commissioned us to fully redecorate her home in south London, and wrote about the experience:

“I’ve been extremely pleased with my experience of working with Graeme and Jim. I liked their thorough and inquisitive approach to inspecting the work to be undertaken. They took the trouble to really review and understand what was required. I also liked the full quotation which was provided — it outlined the work process and gave me a good understanding of where my money would go.

When it came to project management, I very much appreciated Jim’s professionalism, reliability, great communication and unfailing cheerful humour. I also really valued his can-do approach and that he went out of his way to complete other small tasks that were not strictly part of the project, but which were extremely helpful to me.

He made what could have been quite a major and disruptive project very painless. For these reasons, although the quotation was the highest of those I received, I felt that it was really good value for money.”
